Case study sample: Cost-effective reach truck cockpit components
A forklift dashboard project demonstrates how Profile’s thermoforming and CNC trimming deliver attractive yet cost-effective parts. The challenge was minimizing tooling costs.
The OEM wanted a common cover design to accommodate different models. Profile engineers developed a large front part that can be CNC trimmed to 4 specific sizes. Widths varied from 13.8” to 20.8” while the length stayed the same.
The simplified tooling and trimming resulted in a lower total project cost. Profile produced thousands of parts over an 11 year life cycle.
