Case study sample: Mobile Mammography device
Medical cart components are ideal for pressure forming, which delivers highly-aesthetic yet durable enclosure parts. Profile produced cover panels for one OEM’s new portable mammography machine.
Tooling costs for injection molding were too high for the low annual volumes. Profile engineers adapted 9 existing part drawings to thermoforming with close tolerances and expert undercuts.
PVC/Acrylic thermoplastic in standard white instead of custom color saved cost, plus offered impact and chemical resistance with low heat distortion. The durable parts resulted in a significantly lower project cost than injection molding.
